Microsoft has declared that it is commencing the automatic updating of devices running Windows 11 21H2 to Windows 11 22H2 before October 10, when support for version 21H2 will be terminated. The update process will take place gradually and start with those devices which have been using edition 21H2 the longest. According to Microsoft, users can expect a positive experience from their upgraded operating system.

“Today, we started automatically updating devices running Windows 11 21H2 Home and Pro to Windows 11 22H2. Since Windows 10, we’ve been helping users stay up-to-date and secure with supported versions of Windows via automatic updates. We use the same approach in Windows 11 to help you stay protected and productive.”

They offered an apology to those affected, praising Intel’s work in crafting awesome technology but expressing regret that the incompatibility is causing hardships for those users.
