According to a recent survey conducted by encompassing 1000 business leaders, over half of the studied companies in America have implemented OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot – with nearly half revealing that it has already replaced some staff members.

The survey results demonstrate that employers have been exploring ChatGPT’s potential to simplify a range of tasks like coding, copywriting, customer service, and document summarizing since its launch last November 2022.

Despite its successes, some have called into question ChatGPT’s accuracy and potential bias or cheating. Even OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has warned against using AI technology for any “tasks of great importance.” New York Times tech columnist Kevin Roose further voiced his reservations after engaging in a two-hour conversation with Microsoft’s new Bing search engine powered by ChatGPT, characterizing the replies as “unhinged.”

Business leaders are suitably impressed with the quality of ChatGPT’s work, as 55% claim it to be “excellent.” Moreover, almost all companies that use ChatGPT have seen a substantial decrease in expenses: 48 percent report saving over $50K, and 11 percent reported having saved more than $100K!

It is still a mystery as to how the integration of ChatGPT and other AI technologies may affect job seekers and the workforce over time. The sentiment among executives seems clear – 93% are intending to expand their usage of this technology, while 90% view it positively if they haven’t been replaced by it yet!

Business leaders have sounded the alarm, claiming that ChatGPT could result in significant layoffs. When asked about job losses linked to this AI technology by 2023, 33% of these individuals asserted ‘definitely’ while an additional 26% said ‘probably.’ There is no certainty on how ChatGPT will ultimately affect job security; nevertheless, enterprises are actively advancing their utilization of such advancements.
